During the final stage in a person’s journey, every moment is important. As an individual facing a life-limiting illness, you want to make the most of this time with family and friends.
As the loved one of a person with a life-limiting illness, you want to make sure that you are there – to comfort them, to take care of them, and to make each moment meaningful. Caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness can be challenging, however, both physically and emotionally. Sometimes a brief “respite” to recharge can make all the difference.
ViaQuest Respite Services provide families and caregivers with a necessary break from providing around-the-clock care. It gives loved ones the opportunity to rest and tend to their own needs, as well as spend much needed time together. Not only is this important in reducing the pressures that can come from full time care, it ultimately allows caretakers to return more effective and present.
Most importantly: A respite from providing care means that you or your loved one can focus all of your energy what’s most important – spending quality time with one another.
ViaQuest partners with high-quality, local nursing facilities that provide 24-hour skilled nursing care services. All facilities offering respite care must meet the nursing needs of our patients and are furnished in accordance with each patient’s plan of care. Stays can last anywhere from 1 to 5 days per occurrence and are covered by ViaQuest through your or your loved one’s hospice benefit. Emergency, same day respite services are also available.
