ViaQuest Nursing Services offers medication administration training programs for direct support employees and other professionals working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
ViaQuest Nursing Service offers Medication Administration Certification courses for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and Independent Providers who work in Developmentally Disabled (DD) settings.
A two-day course from 8:30am-5:30pm to meet the minimum CE requirement of 14 hours as mandated by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD).
Certification to assist individuals with G/J tubes. This add-on course is a minimum of 4 hours to meet the CE requirement as mandated by DODD and requires a delegating nurse to oversee the DSP in the setting.
Certification to assist individuals with insulin and metabolic glycemic injections. This add-on course is a minimum of 4 hours to meet the CE requirement as mandated by DODD and requires a delegating nurse to oversee the DSP in the setting.
These trainings are designed to permit unlicensed personnel to administer an Epi-pen auto injector, Vagal Nerve Stimulator and over-the-counter topical products to intact skin, hair and nail surfaces. This is applicable to staff who are med certified (as well as staff who are not med certified) and must be done annually.
RN Trainer Certification certifies RNs to be able to train unlicensed personnel to administer medications in DD settings.
